Hello Families! I hope that you had a wonderful Thankgiving break.

This week we will review equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, and comparing fractions.
We will also review for the District Common Assessment and unit test 4.

*We are practicing x9 and /9 for timed math.
*There will be no math homework handed out this week.

Week 12

Hello Families! Happy Veteran's Day!! Thank you to all our Veterans and their families for serving our Country.

This week we have been working on:

-Converting Improper fractions to Mixed numbers and Mixed numbers to Improper fractions
-Converting Fractions to Decimals and Decimals to Fractions
-Simplifying Fractions
-Spiral review of the "Break Apart" Method of Multiplication
-Spiral review of long division


*We have written notes in the Math notebook that will help students with completing their homework
this week. Please have students refer to their math notebooks for reference and examples of everything we covered so far this year.

*Homework for this week was passes out on Monday, November 9th and it is due next week November 16.

* We are working on X8 and /8 this week and next week. Please have students and memorize all their facts that we have worked.

-Spiral Review of Long division algorithms
-Spiral REvew of 2by2 multiplication algorithms and lattice
-Multi-step word problems
-Start of Fractions : includes fraction to decimal conversions, decimal fraction conversions
-Equivalent Fractions

*EARLY RELEASE- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28.
* Homework was handed out today. It is due November 2, next Monday.
* We have started practice on our X7 and /7. Please have students practice everynight.
* District Common Assessment for Math will be tomorrow October 27.
* PICTURE DAY is THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29TH.

-Multiplication properties
-"Break Apart" method for the distributive property
-Two by two multiplication algorithms and lattice
-Prime and Composite numbers (Factor Trees)
-Factors and Multiples ( T-charts and Skip counting )
-Common factors and multiples



* Homework was handed out on Monday and it is due on October 13.
* There is no school on Monday for students.
* Timed math quiz on x5, /5 is on October 9, Friday.

Week 6


Hello families! This is what we will be covering this week.

-Determine products of a number and 10 or 100 using properties of operations and place value understandings.

-Use strategies and algorithms, including the standard algorithm, multiply a two-digit number by one digit number, three-digit number by one digit number, and to multiply a two-digit number by a two-digit number. 

-Review strategies such as mental math, commutative, associative, and distributive properties, and lattice.

-Determine strategies to understand multi-step word problems.



*Homework for this week is due October 5.
*Timed Math quiz is on Friday September 2.

Hi there! I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend!

This week we will be wrapping up rounding, place value and addition and subtraction.
We will continue to practice these skills as a spiral review thoughout the year.  This week
will start learning how to multiply and divide number using the standard method of math and
lattice method. We will also be disecting word problems with multiple functions.

Please have students memorize and practice math facts everyday. We have started working on the x4 and /4 tables.

-Homework for this week will be handed out on Tuesday, September 22 and will be due next Tuesday, September 29.

-Timed math quiz on x4, /4 will be next Friday, October 2.

WEEK 29/ Week 30


Families,

Here is what we are learning this week.

Writing- 
We are writing various fun stories with different beginnings and endings.

Social Studies- 
We are working on a packet on early Texas explorers.

Math- 
Spiraling review-
* Review of concepts covered until now.


New concept- 

*Practice test 1 and test 2 for STAAR.

*We will be reviewing various word problems to prepare for the STAAR Assessment. Please review homework packets, graded assessments, or practice questions with your child.

*We are continuing working on mixed 2-12 times tables. Please make sure students practice every night. Our goal is to complete all 100 multiplication problems and all 100 division problems in 10 minutes, 5 minutes for each side.

*Homework packet for last week is due Thursday, April 9.
*Homework packet for this week is due Tuesday, April 14.
*Practice Test 1 will be sent home with students Friday for them to complete and review and bring back on Monday, April 13.

*We will start Practice Test 2 on Monday and that will also be sent home for review.

*US customary and metric conversions
*Volume
*Stem and lear plot

New concept- 

*Charts and graphs
*Fixed and Variable Expenses
*Staar Review


*We are working on mixed 2-12 times tables. Please make sure students practice every night. Our goal is to complete all 100 multiplication problems and all 100 division problems in 10 minutes, 5 minutes for each side.

*Please make sure students are completing homework packets carefully.
I have been carefully selecting tested questions and review for the upcoming Staar assessment.

*Homework for this week will be due on Monday, March 23, after spring break.
