Hi there! I hope that you are having a great weekend. I want to share the
STAAR Testing schedule for this coming week.

-Third and Fourth grade students will take the STAAR Math on Monday and the STAAR Reading assessment on Tuesday.

Fifth grade will take their STAAR science assessment on Wednesday.

-Make up assessments will be on Wednesday/Thursday and possibly Friday.

Reminders-
1. Visitors will not be allowed on campus during testing
2. FREE breakfast will be served on testing days.
3. Please have your children here at school on time.

Thank you for encouraging your children to do their best during the tests. Remind them to reread the questions, reread the passages, prove answers, and think carefully. Taking notes, underlining, highlighting, and drawing pictures can help understanding. Taking breaks is important.  They can put their head down, go to the bathroom, or have a snack to help them refocus and re-energize to keep working hard.

I am more than confident that they are going to do well.  Thank you for all you help and support this year!

WEEK 30

Hello Families!!

MATH:
We are diligently preparing and practicing for the upcoming math STAAR Assessment on Monday, May 8. We are currently reviewing Geometry concepts and working through multi-step word problems for it.  Also homework this month will be limited due to the rigorous class assignments.

We have a 30 day month trial in IXL .com, a terrific online practice site that is aligned with the TEXAS TEKS. Please have students log on and practice concepts as much as possible. They have their own log in information and know how to navigate the program.

Some of the Teks we are reviewing via IXL for Geometry are:

Angles- Z1,Z3, Z4,Z5
Triangles and Qualdrilaterals- X1, X4 AND X5
Measurement-N1

There are other concepts that we have been practicing as well.

WRITING:
We are working on a group writing assignment. I am proud of how students have been working together and coming up with really great ideas and working through disagreements by listening and compromising with each other.

HAVE A WONDERFUL THREE DAY WEEKEND! / HAPPY EASTER!

Thank you for all your help and support this year! Appreciate you!
